Well after Genie's reaction to the song, via email this morning... I'd be crazy not to put it one the next CD... and thanks Gnu, there are a bunch of songs for the next, one a song i wrote for genie some (she'll kill me for saying this... ) twenty some years ago, then the new one. Maybe start the CD with the old one and finish up with the new one... here is a few verses of the old one...Come here to me now, turn off the set awhile
and I'll tell you of a time not to long ago
when my love and I sat spell bound by a tale
the like of which our sons will never know
we'd walk to the square for a market or a fair
and wonder at the plenty or the prices
but in the chill morning air, there was nothing quite so fair
as the crys of the seagulls or the Traveller's wivesA red haired girl, a good reason not to fish
so its off to the high field for a pint or two or three
or late to mass, standing in by the door
but I suppose its alright between God and me
and the seas may be fearce and I'd fear for my life
but its better than fearing for my sanity
so its shoot the net and freeze, God send the salmon please
for the night is long and this half decker is cold.
