All along the South Coast
The sea is sort of there
And the sun is sort of shining
Through a sort of salt sea air
There's a sort of "shall we", "shan't we"
A sort of "yes" and "no"
A sort of rolling up of trouser leg and dipping in of toe
.....
And all along the South Coast
Can still be sort of seen
A corner of sort of England
That's forever sort of green
No, I can't imagine that being recited at a US festival, somehow!
Neither can I imagine how a woman could turn the lyrics of Jack Elliot's "South Coast".
Is there a third "South Coast" somewhere?
