Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Fear A Bhata
the first link given by Áine, 24 March, gives 4 verses in Rathlin Irish; it is not the Scottish version. There are just a couple of typos: "Mo shoraidh slán leat gach áit an dtéid thí" - the last letter should be ú. "an dtigh thú amárach" should read "an dtig thú amárach. And horoó should be horó.
The verses at Áine's own webpages (her second link)are similar, but "an bhfeicfinn", is given instead of "an bhfeic mé", which wouldn't now be said that way in Ireland (as far as I know; we do have lots of regional variation).
I think these words are probably already on Mudcat; I'd need to have a look at the other threads for which links are given early on in this thread. George Seto has been after me to type out a further 6 verses collected in Rathlin Island, published in books by Éinrí Ó Muirgheasa and Nollaig Ó hUrmoltaigh ... I haven't got around to this yet.
