My first glimpse of life came February 1, 1949 at the 97th Military Field Hospital, Frankfurt-an-Mein, Germany. Dad (a GI) was sent to Korea and never returned. Mom went to live with G'mom in Dresden (then East Germany) and we came to Florida (so Mom could help care for an aging Aunt) in 1955. I was 6 years old at the time.
