Get rid of the Royals and it would make about as much of a contribution to making England a better place to live in as it would if the Royals got rid of the Corgis. Whether you like them or loathe them, they are just decoration. And the Queen Mother had some decorative style.

I might not cross the road to save the Royals - but I wouldn't snap my fingers to get rid of them.
