Tara TV, the channel which broadcasts Irish TV to the UK, has been put into the hands of liquidators by the High Court in Dublin.
The troubled station will be off air by the end of April after Mr Justice Brian McCracken heard it had debts of 22.8m euros (£14.1m).It is expected all 20 staff at its London and Derry offices will be made redundant.
Tara was launched in 1997 as a joint venture between United Pan-Europe, which had an 80% stake, and the publicly-owned Irish station RTE.
It carries much of RTE's content to the UK on cable and satellite including The Daniel O'Donnell Show and The Late Late Show, which was famously hosted by Gay Byrne until 1999.
