I sing in a noisy environment -- The Press Room, our favorite pub -- almost all the time. Let it teach you how to project. Learn how to use your voice. If you're doing it right, it won't hurt your voice and it's a useful skill to have. Makes you (and the people trying to LISTEN to you!) appreciate it when you have a quiet environment, a microphone, or a quiet listening audience.Of course, I also tweak my repertoire to the ambience -- The Press Room gets the rowdier songs with choruses so people will join in.
