Joseph Pujol, aka le Petomaine, or le Petomane! There is a recent documentary film going around, 1998, by Igor Vamos(?), Canadian production, I think, pseudo documentary, style, but this guy was for real, and this was before everything on stage was miked! the Marseilles was a big hit, very staccato.
