My aunt had a school friend who married a Frenchman and went to live in France. When they came for a visit, the guy was the stereotypical suave, sophisticated Frenchman, charming everyone else at the dinner party with his urbane wit. After coffee, he excused himself, saying he had to go "tinkle" (American kiddie euphemism for "urinate"). The diners sat in surpried silence, except for my uninhibited aunt, who cracked up.
