Kevin Costner is surpassed only by Keanu Reeves. The only thing he says convincingly is "woah." I second the southern accents thing, though I have to say I'm not surprised. As a southernern in college in NY state, and as a high school student in PA, I asked my friends if NY and Boston had the same accent? No? Well, neither do Richmond and Atlanta. Or Atlanta and Birmingham... it goes on. Unless you really have an ear for accents, it's hard to get an actor to do them. Hey, I coached a bunch of yankees in dialect in "To Kill a Mockingbird." That was interesting....
