I've always thought Reg was saying "Split yer 'ands" i.e., play something different with each -- clearly a revolutionary concept as far as The Troggs drummer was concerned. Some of the phrases from that tape have become favourites with my band --- "We'll sprinkle a bit of fairy-dust on it" and "Why don't we try a 12-string?"
