Thanks, Bill D. Here in Alberta, we have Mennonites, Moravians and Hutterites. The latter is an Anabaptist community-oriented group with colonies throughout the western provinces and Montana devoted to farming and animal husbandry. They keep to the hand-tailored clothes but use the latest in machinery, computer-directed equipment, etc. They are resented by some other farmers because their large spreads and thrifty ways enable them to buy their needs at wholesale or fleet prices. Singing on the colonies is supposedly non-secular, but most have hidden radios, and some have friends outside the colony with whom they can watch TV and rental movies. I have heard them do a pretty good job on the singing of current pop groups when the "bosses" aren't around. They are also the best source of jokes of all kinds.
