Subject: Tks for the Homebuyer's Lamaze Coaching!
The ink is dry! Rog and I finally own our own home, again, for the first time since 1983 when we sold the old "ranch" out on Poison Spider Road!
Several of you have been reminding me to breath and been *virtually* holidng my hand while going through this very scarey, frustrating, elating, stressFULL process. A couple of you have been there, on a daily basis and then some! Whenever any of you told me to not forget to BREATH and try to keep on an even keel, I was reminded of lamaze coaching and the he-he-he-hooo breathing to get through contractions!**BG**
Anyway, THANK YOU!!!!! We did it!! We've got our own little patch of Colorado and I now know a little bit of what it must've felt like for my ancestors when they first staked out their bit of Colorado, too, although we didn't get the acreage they did!:-)
I have rosebushes and a picket fence that needs painting in the front yard; huge cottonwood trees in front and back; irrigation water rights, very important in the dry West; built-in bookshelves in the two bedrooms; big windows; huge linen closet; and a huge backyard all fenced in with a garden area fenced separately.
Rog has been spending his weekends wandering around Home Depot and other stores of the like, looking at siding, a priority, and other little "bells and whistles" for the ideas we have of what we'd like to do with it. It is a squat, rectangular little home, which would lend itself well to flowerboxes under the windows, shutters, and that narrow board siding like the old colonial houses in New England have, but there are other ways in which it would "spruce up" well, too.
The other priority is the kitchen cupboards. You'll laugh! Some renters painted them purple! I haven't seen what shade, but Rog assures me they can be stripped back to their original nice wood finish! Ya know, purple is one of my favourite colours, but NOT on my kitchen cupboards!!LOL
Anyway, THANKS, again, for being there, for listening to me whine, rant, doubt, cry, laugh, etc. Now comes the easy part: moving our already packed up stuff, the six cats, one dog, various houseplants (large) and me from Wyoming to Colorado!!
