Thanks C-flat, for the info. Re Taylor being "no Django...", Django was no Martin Taylor. All due respect to Grapelli (another one of my heroes), Rheinhart and Taylor had very different styles. Taylor certainly isn't as wild and passionate as Django was but he's one of the most unbelievable fingerstylists to ever pick up the instrument.
Birelli LaGrene used to play very capably in a style inspired by Django back when he was a teenager. vl
