The deer population is the way it is because hunters have decinmated the natural predator population (bobcats, mountain lions, catamounts, lynxes, etc.). What used to be kept in check by Mother Nature is now something that has fallen to man; deer are shot so they won't starve to death, or "ravage the environment." But it is humans that have created the situation.But I digress...in terms of gun violence in the U.S. hunters aren't the main problem...however they are a small part of it.
