Van Lingle; I agree entirely with you, I thought that Grapelli's comment was artless. I've seen Martin Taylor myself and I know what a rare talent he is! Dave T; Regarding Django's electric jazz playing, what I meant is that Django himself felt unable to make the transition from accoustic to electric and was occasionaly frustrated by what he felt were shortcomings in his electric guitar playing. As you rightly point out, there are some wonderful recordings of him using an electric guitar, I suppose only Reinhardt himself knew where he felt most at home, musically speaking.
