Hi Sandy

A plug for the old alma mater......Berea College is a center for arts, music, dance, and crafts in Kentucky. The school has a strong community committment to the Appalachian region and the preservation of it's history. It is tuition free with a work study program and 90% of the students come from 244 Appalachian counties.Truthfully, the place is getting a bit artsy-fartsy for my taste, but they still have many wonderful events.

MAY 14-16 the Appalachian Center of the College is doing their Celebration of Traditional Music. For the past few years, this has also been held in conjunction with the statewide show of the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftspeople making for a great weekend in every way...a bit of something for everybody.

This may be a good weekend stop where they could hear alot, see a lot, and learn a lot while having a good time in a beautiful setting. Just a thought.

The town of Berea has a website at http://www.berea.com/index.html and the Berea College site is at http://www.berea.edu/.

They might want to check these out and I hope they have a good time here.
