CHICKEN DINNER GRACE

Thanks to the hens who gave their lives
To lie between our forks and knives,
And thanks to all the grain they ate
For fatt'ning them to meet their fate.

Thanks to the hardy meat processors,
Carcass-pullers, bird undressers,
Packagers and meat-deboners,
Company execs and owners.

Thanks to 18-wheeler truckers
Driving meat to stores, poor fellows.
Thanks to ev'ry groc'ry clerk
Who stocks the freezer shelves at work

With boneless chicken breast and thigh
That we might go to shop and buy.
We thank you all, both young and old....
But now the goshdarn chicken's cold!
