And if it wasn't them, it was probably me; but there ARE other people out there with edit buttons, waiting to pounce down on faulty HTML and fix it (I quite frequently beat 'em to it, but they're getting faster).
I'm trying to maintain this thread (click here) as a guide to HTML on Mudcat. If you read it carefully and play around a bit, you should soon be typing those angle brackets as fast as the rest of us. Feet free to post test HTHL on that thread or this one - eventually, I'll delete the stuff that's just experimentation.

Each time I enter, I hear a doorbell ring. I go to the front door of my house, and nobody was there. Anyhow, I know the doorbell on chat works for me.
