Subject: RE: HTML test thread 1 - please ignore
Could I suggest that someone writes out a more step-by-step guide based on an example, and asks Joe to substitute it for what's on the FAQ at present, please?

What I have is something along the following lines:

EXAMPLE

Suppose you want to turn the words "blue clickies" into a link to the HTML Test Thread.

1. Type the sentence containing the relevant words, e.g

Anyone wanting to practise blue clickies can use the practice thread set up for this purpose.

2. [At] the phrase "blue clickies" insert the following: [and this is where I need the help of someone who is clickie-literate to give the correct instructions. Just which bits of the instruction in the FAQ should be put exactly where?]

3. Open a separate navigator window... and copy from the address bar the URL to which you want to set up the link.

4. Return to your draft posting and paste in the URL [wherever is appropriate, to be described in unambiguous terms which even an ignoramus like me can't misunderstand]

5. The sentence should now appear as follows [whoever picks up the idea, please correct]:

Anyone wanting to practise Click here can use the practice thread set up for this purpose.

6. Finish typing your posting and submit it. When posted it will appear as a html link or "blue clicky".
