I can answer for at least one American as to comprehending ljc's communications. I don't generally try to decipher one word or syllable at a time- I read it in a flow as though I understood it. And sure enough, I usually understand it! (I enjoy it.)Like 'nae borrah'; first time I've seen it. To me it sounds like Little John is saying the Scots equivalent of the Spanish 'por nada'- it's 'nothing' or 'no bother'.
Mind you, I could write phonetically in the German dialect I spoke as I was growing up. But 'nay, Ich tzel net sel do'. neener, neener, neener...
