Call me impatient, if you wish, but we've been promised the 'new improved' mudcat for almost a year.I have no problem if it never happens. The current version is pretty damn good.
What I find frustrating, is the fact that we're constantly told that it is 'imminent'
Anyone know the lowdown?
And NO this isn't a flame, and NO I don't think I could do any better.
Unfulfilled promises aren't great, though.

Actually, much of it is already here - many tools that help us manage Mudcat, consolidate duplicate threads, identify and deal with those who misuse or abuse our forum. We've been using those tools to your advantage for many months.
There are a couple of features that should come online soon, but I don't know when. The most noticeable one is automatic line breaks, but it's also the most problematic. It's hard to come up with a balance that eliminates the need for typing line breaks, but still gives users some flexibility in using HTML. Another feature will be threads that truncate at a certain length, leaving a button at the end to go on to the next block of messages - that will eliminate the need to start a "part 2" of a thread if it gets too long. The third thing is the ability to delete or archive personal messages in bulk, instead of one at a time (but you have to be a registered Mudcatter to have personal messages).
