To connect this homesteading thread with music, tonight is an old time country dance being held as a fund raiser for the local historical society. The contra dances here are regularly held once a month, but this month is a special "pioneer costume" event. I did the poster for them a couple of weeks ago. The local pioneer museum has a huge archive of donated photographs from early settler families of Gallatin County. We used one that shows a group of people gathered for a picnic.
