Thread Name: Lyr Req: Doesn't Anybody Know My Name (Rod McKuen)
Subject: RE:
This, I believe, is a Rod McKuen song, sung also by Glenn Yarborough. I prefer the Jimmie Rodgers version (hope I've spelt his name right), though I haven't heard it in decades. What I can remember offhand:

Someday some old familiar rain
Will come along and know my name.
And then my shelter will be gone
And I'll have to move along.

CHORUS: But till that time I'll be your man
And love away your troubles if I can.

Someday the man I used to be
Will come along and call on me.
And then because I'm just a man [to be continued]
