Right on, Khandu! Your keen grasp of Shatner's vital role in reshaping musical and societal mores in the late 20th century never ceases to impress me. As you suggest, it was a clash of egos that put the kibosh to the Dylan/Shatner project. Not that surprising, really. I remember when Dylan and Baez were trying to settle on a poster design for their 1963 tour, and Eric Von Schmidt went to great lengths to design one that appeared to give them both first billing...it's a cool poster, and no doubt worth a fortune if you can find an original one somewhere.Alas, no such poster was made for Dylan & Shatner. Of course, they didn't tour together, so...
I'd personally like to hear Big Bill have a go at "Brownsville Girl" sometime...THAT would be something to hear!
