For those who propose that we create peace on earth by establishing yet another government agency, we already have a "Department of Peace". Its called the Agency for International Development. This is an extract from its policy statement: "The agency works to support long-term and equitable economic growth and advancing U.S. foreign policy objectives by supporting: economic growth, agricultural and trade; global health; and, democracy, conflict prevention and humanitarian assistance." You can find out more about it here: USAID. The issue as I see it isn't that we don't have an agency with this mission, but that we don't give it an appropriate priority.
