THE MAN WHO FELL THROUGH (the hole in his shoe)

I once knew a man so lazy,
He hated to put on his clothes
He complained that the smell of the daisies
Was way too much work for his nose,
One shoe had the tiniest puncture
Bigger and bigger it grew
But, he wouldn't send it to someone to mend it
And, finally, one day he fell through.

Oh, the man who fell through
the hole in his shoe
hasn't been heard from since then
even if it's hell in the place that he fell in
no doubt, he's too lazy to climb out again.

It's true I don't think of him often
It boggles my mind when I do
He demanded his Jello be softened
So it wouldn't be so hard to chew
But, I'll tell you he taught me a lesson
and learning it helped me stay strong
Don't patch a hole when it gets in your soul
And you probably won't last very long.
