Guest Russ,Thanks, I tried to subscribe but I didn't hear back. When I got my banjo I had a couple of people (professional pickers) tell me to tighten the head to just before it snaps. Well, I found out the snapping point the hard way. My thinking is that with one of these wrenches, you could see what a banjo that is set up properly torques to, then just torque yours to that setting. But $50 U.S. seems a lot for something that you throw in your case and use occassionally.
