Just a couple of additional notes for posterity. The original double bass player with Mulga Bill's was Ian "Norm" Sullivan, a classically trained muso who in later years acquired a 5 string bass (with a low B string) with a headstock carved with the face of Beethoven. Then came Marsh Robinson and later Peter Howell took over the double bass mantle. You'll find Peter's name with recording session credits on a number of CD's produced in Australia.
