Here's a bit more from my friend who has been watching this closely. There's some good suggestions of internet radio stations to listen to and support, as well. Thank, Bill, for posting this.
Congratulations to everyone who helped barrage the congress and library of congress in the CARP Hearings. While yesterdays victory will be met with tough opposition from big business interests, the librarian of congress has been convinced that the rates proposed were completely out of line and threatened the USA's future in bitcasting.
Remember to enjoy this victory to the tune of your favorite colorful internet station. Need suggestions or want to find a new favotite? Mike's radio world is still doing a good job with streaming links from Mike's you might want to check out some of my favorites like CYJQ-St. Johns Newfoundland (Plays only regional -mainly folk-music and has the Newfoundland story telling hour Mondays at 8pm Newfoundland time 4.5 hours advanced from Pacific) Their sister (mother) station is VOCM a radio station that came out of the Marconi repeating station at St Johns and proudly wears the Original "V" call sign.
Radio Noord, Groenien Holland, is actually located on a ship off the coast and is a fabulous full service, (non english) radio station. Listed in Mike's under Netherlands.
If you miss the days of real easy listening Saga Radio in Birmingham, Scotland England has a lively easy mix from Chet Atkins, to big bands, to pleasant rock oldies and light jazz this is the best service of its kind I know of.
Country Radio in Prague, Czech Republic is a real charmer.....
Thanks to everyone for helping, please listen for future news on this matter, the fights not over, but at the end of the first inning the score stands bitcasters one, big business zilch!
