Of course, the DC folk gathered on Saturday night (April 17th) to hear a wonderful concert by Jean Ritchie, and then, in typical FSGW style, had a sing-around after the concert. One concert that's probbaly NOT on the FSGW website--Monday, April 19th, Oscar Brand singing a program of American Politcal and Presidential Campaign Songs from the 1700s to the present--at the Silver Spring Public Library, 8901 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, Maryland. It starts at 7:30 or 8:00. An information number is listed as 301-565-7689. The library is a 10 minute walk from the Silver SPring Metro, and there are many busses along Colesville Road if you don't want to walk.
Oscar Brand also sang Saturday evening--a program of his bawdy songs, but I was at Jean Ritchie's concert instead.
