One I did was "Gift of a brand new day" which had the verse; "We can take the baby out" which became "Now that the kids are grown" Time sometimes forces adjustments. Personally I don't mind if people change the tune a little to suit their voice or add chords I can't play but the WORDS are the product of my life's work and to change them is like adding to another painter's picture to me. If I don't like the words of a song I don't sing it, although, as I said earlier I might Anglicise it if it's American, but tthat's only changing the grammer as I don't sing in an American or Mid Atlantic accent.As will every British singer at the Queen's Jubilee Concert!
