Thread Name: Lyr Req: A Windmill in Old Amsterdam
Subject: RE: Second Try: Mouse in Old Amsterdam (FATD)
Hi, Peter - gee, were we EVER really "folk correct" around here? I suppose we are a bit more traditional than rec.music.folk here, but a few of us iconoclasts have always been able to keep the Folk Police nervous without plunging to the depths of singer-songwritery. I guess the first "mouse" thread appeared in June, 1997, when Elsie and her minions were still trying to keep us on the straight and narrow. (grin)
I did a forum search and found some previous threads (click here) and here but haven't found yet where the lyrics were. Can you post them again in this thread? You might get a "harumpf!" from Bill D, but don't worry about it. His bark is worse than his bite. Besides, if we come up with a tune, there's a good chance his wife will sing it at their next open sing....
Besides, Bill hasn't been much of a Credible Curmudgeon since somebody got him to sing "Key of R."
