Actually McGrath, one of the things that both Heather and I noted was that it seemed to have a bit of class. I'm not even sure why. Yeah, there was a lot of flag waving....but in a 'muted' kind of way.My guess is the young Royals are getting a lot of practice at NOT looking totally bored. What a skill that must be. I think of that poor old sick and doddering Pope guy being forced to meet and greet everyday, and it practically breaks my heart....no rest for the infallible I guess.
There were a few pictures of the concert in the paper this morning, and I've at least been able to identify Ricky Martin (wasn't he famous about three years ago) and Bryan Adams, but the dark haired guy playing the Gibson (Explorer?) is still a mystery to me.
Why wasn't RINGO asked to participate? He may have been the only Beatle who was apolitical enough to really WANT a Monarchy.
Cheers
Rick
