They were lucky that the police protected them. I am sure there are some people who would argue that freedom of dissent and expression could involve urinating on a politician, or member of the Royal family. Such expression is not decent, nor an acceptable form of demonstration in a civilized society; neither is a mock execution, which is depicting and inciting an act of violence against the crown.
