I tried four different "free" message board systems at my site and they all worked just fine for a while with only banners blipping and flashing at the top of the page, but after a couple months the dreaded popups would start creeping in. A few at first and then we'd get them each time a post was read or replied to. After moving the place and all the regulars for the fourth time I finally took the plunge and figured out how to run Matt's WWWboard script with no pops,banners or ads anywhere. Between rebuilding all those message boards and driving myself nuts figuring out how to run cgi-scripts I can truthfully say that if I run into a site with pops I don't linger there for long. I'm scarred for life....a pitiful shell...too popped to poop..
