I think the first thing to realize about any use of this music now is that there ARE people who are approaching it seriously and in a scholarly fashion, whose interest is not in just playing around with stereotypes.

GUEST, would you be so kind as to use some kind of screen name in your posts in this thread? With your obvious knowledge of music, I want to ensure that if other GUESTs weigh in we can keep it straight who is saying what, and be sure it's clear to whom specific repsonses are directed.
