Ah well, here is the difference. Billy Braggs' song was anti monarch/capitalist without really being downright rudely offensive. Pogue ma hoin is, how ever you spell it. And I said Oirish, which is also different. Oirish usually refers to someone who likes to think they are Irish, because way back in the 19th Century, one of their remote ancestors drank the first pint of Guinness imported to Hartlepool or wherever. This entitles them to slag off the British Army/government/monarchy, wear a balaclava and combats, speak in a phoney Oirish accent that stumbles from Belfast nasal to Galway drawl in one sentence (and often one word) and who thinks that St Patrick was the patron saint of extended opening hours.
