....and moving to Oahu! I've just accepted a position as a full-time developmental pediatrician at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu. The good news is I don't have to join the Army. The better news is I will be working regular hours with NO NIGHT CALL! I'll be working primarily with school-age children with ADHD and other learning/behavior problems, in a multidisciplinary team setting, and also teaching pediatric and family practice residents. And they have contradances in Honolulu, and maybe even a song circle or two! And I'll finally have time to take ukulele lessons, and maybe even write some songs! Of course, it means I'll be leaving all my patients and their families, and leaving this incredible island...but nothing's perfect.

PS, for those who are confused by the thread title, the island I live on now is the Island of Hawaii, also called the Big Island. If you look at a map of Hawaii, it's the big one (!) at the lower right. Honolulu is on the island of Oahu, which is the second from the left (third if you count tiny Ni'ihau).
