vinegar may help--of the apple cider variety-- acetic acid may neutralize the essence of PePe Le Peau.. i think there are civit cats in europe,,, their glandular sevretions are used to get fine perfume to "stick" (not stink) we have 2 varieties of skunk here-- spotted and striped..the striped ones are more agile and more streamlined.. and more able to run away as a defense, so less likelyto squirt-0-however when they do, they stand on their front legs and lift rear (legs, tail and all) into the air to aim----and fire... all skunks patter their feet before spraying as a warning....if you are close enough" to watch their feet....watch out!!
