I have the book. It is mainly a resource for musicians. Not being a musician, but having a deep interest in oldtimey music, I purchased it for the intro (c 30pp) and the notes to the tunes - and for the CD. There are transcriptions of 170 tunes plus a few variants. The CD of 26 tunes is fine. There is also a section with potted biographies of Kentucky fiddlers with some excellent black and white photos. The bibliography (references to printed and recorded sources) is extensive. A wonderful resource for oldtimey fiddlers.--Stewie.
