Thread Name: Review: Latecomer to Thieme dance
Subject: Latecomer to Thieme dance
I know y'all already know this but I "discovered" this in a strange way...

I have a collection of radio programs I taped throughout the 80's -- Programs like "A Folk Sampler" with Mike Flynn, and a few locally produced folk programs as well.

Sometimes when I'm getting ready to hop in the van for a trip I'll grab a handful of old tapes (from a custom rack a friend made me that holds over 400 tapes). It's fun to be surprised by recordings I didn't know I had.....

.....and that was the case when, driving down an Indiana back road, windows rolled down to the summer morning warm, I heard this voice that just fit the day so well.

I thought, "Hmmm. A richer, more refined Bill Morrissey....every bit as warm as Gorka but with the enunciation of Seeger or McCutcheon ......... jeeeeez! I could listen to this all day!"

The disc jockey (remember these are taped radio programs) came on and said, "The last two songs were Art Thieme".

So.....if you've never heard him -- I highly recommend that you give him a listen. To all you who already know what I'm so late to find out -- you may want to pull out the old recordings again!
