Thread Name: Song Challenge! - Part 84
Subject: RE: SONG CHALLENGE! - Part 84
Well, I hope a few of you other Challenger!s are gonna pen some more odes to Rosie, too. I kinda feel like I'm hogging the thread, but having posted the beginning of this song, I kinda wanted to finish it.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Surrey" song is actually quite long, and I may later get around to parodying the rest of it, but here's what I have so far:

"The Filly With The Panties of Red"
Tune - "Surrey With the Fringe On The Top" - Rodgers & Hammerstein

Intro:
When you visit Washington with me,
In the town of Ellensburg you'll see
A mini'ture goat, and other pets of all persuasions
At the homestead of Jen and Cherry!

Verses:
"Fat Butt" goat and geese come a running,
Then you see the horse, oh, so cunning,
In her fancy pants, oh, so stunning all in silken red!

Watch that lace and see how it flutters,
While around the town Rosie putters,
As her human, Cherry, she chaufeurs
Past the traffic stop!

Bridge:
Her buckles are yeller, her blanket's brown,
Her bridle's Corinthian leather,
Her silky panties are quite reknowned
All red and lacy -- so clever!

Verse:
Sidekick piggies are winkin' and blinkin"
At the guests, and, sure, they're a thinkin'
"Awf'lly pow'rful stuff I been drinkin' -- it, for sure, warn't milk!"
When they spy that mini filly with the red drawers of silk!

Intro Reprise:
"Did you say her pants was made of silk?"
"Rosie wouldn't have no lesser ilk!"
"Does she really sport a leather 'bridle-corset'?"
"Does a dark brown cow give choc'late milk?"

Verse:
'Round the town ol' Cherry can scurry,
Whether cruisin' or in a hurry,
With his clever guide horse so furry, in her drawers of red!

When they venture out from the stable
Out to dinner, Rosie is able
To hang out, so cool, 'neath the table
Till they've all been fed.

Bridge:
When Cherry whistles, she comes running along--
The other critters move over--,
As Rosie whispers her equine song
And goes wherever he drove 'er.

Verses:
"What a horse!" "I swan! " "Did you ever
See a guide companion so clever?"
Don't ya kinda wish you could 'ave 'er?
'Cause she's so well bred,
That funny little filly with the panties of red!

When the prairie sky's gettin cloudy
Or the house guests start gettin' rowdy,
Little Rosie, she knows just how tae make it right instead--
Such a funny little filly with the panties of red!

When we hit the road after supper,
We've no need for downers or uppers--
Cats and ducks and a litter of 'puppers',
And a goat well-fed,
They'll all dance with the filly with the panties of red!
