Reading this---seeing the character and actual assassination of Highlander revealed now here on the www--- makes me sick and fed up with exesses perpetrated, supposedly, in our interest. That was true when Hoover did it and it is true when Ashcroft does it.The American nation should be, but never has been, above these activities. Reading the name J. Edgar Hoover in these documents and seeing his manipulations exposed as he hounded some fine people at Highlander and elsewhere as they tried to correct the excesses of Capitalism and other various warped institutions in the U.S.A., shows me that we are correct in questioning vehimently the seeming recent loss of certain constitutional rights since the World Trade Center was attacked.-------
ALSO: Arthur Anderson and Enron's exesses prove to me that the Robber Barons of the last two centuries are still with us. To allow the corporate exesses out there to continue -- to allow CEOs and and common thieves in so MANY OTHER AS YET UNDISCLOSED corporate debacles to walk away with their extra billions of dollars while the individual American states go bankrupt as a result of all these tragic machinations, is an actual crime against the people greater than many more W.T.C. tragedies. The real impacts of these and corporate scandals on the way, will possibly prove, yet again, that the Industrial Workers Of The World were correct when they said in their Wobbly Preamble that (and I paraphrase) "The people and the bosses have practically nothing in common."
We need to be certain that we strip them, somehow, of the cash they've stolen. Make them pay it back. Make the wealth of the greedy redistribute in a meaninful way----and give them jail time for being the thieves that they are. A National Endowment For The People might be a way to start.
