I thought there was a thread on this some time ago too but couldn't find one. The Diamond fished out of Peterhead in the 1820' for the Right Whale off the west coast of Greenland up until 1830 when along with 50 other ships got caught in the ice in Melville Bay. 19 ships, including the Diamond, Resolution & the Rattler were crushed & over 1000 whalermen were living on the ice, many dying from exposure & starvation.
