I don't know about the rules surrounding shameless self-promotion, (but I do understand of course, that posting drivel is a no-no) but here goes. Cara is performing at the Hope and Anchor, Ferriby Sluice, South Ferriby, North Lincs. on Thursday 27th June starting at 9.00pm. Cara is Mike Ryan (vocals, pipes, mandolin, whistles and guitar) John Rawlings (Guitar) and a certain bearded bloke with prominent ears on fiddle and mandolin. It is a gentle mix of trad and original instrumental and vocal music, drawing its inspiration from the Celtic tadition, apparently. The pub is comfortable and appears suited to becoming a music venue, having hosted fortnightly Cara gigs since October last year. This will be possibly Cara's last appearance at the Hope and Anchor before the Autumn, as the darts and dominoes team start their home matches on Thursdays soon. Heigh Ho! The pub is at the mouth of the Ancholme river, as it meets the muddy waters of the Humber estuary, on the A1077 Barton to Scunthorpe Road. Admission is free. I think that this post may have been drivel-free so I'll blather on about Purple Helmets next time.
