Shame on you, annamill!!! Even though I, too, have quit; attitudes like your's are the reason the problem is never going to go away. There is strong reason to suspect that tobacco is only half the problem. At the most, only half the problem. There is a high probability the internal combustion engine and the tires on our vehicles are doing as much damage as cigarettes, perhaps more. As long as lazy people (and the AMA) continue to demonize tobacco, without looking at the whole picture, things are going to stay more or less the same. When was the last time you demanded higher EPA standards? When was the last time our Republican masters paid any attention? Don't forget. The AMA has focussed it's attention on cigarettes because it's easy, popular and politically correct. But the AMA has a long and proud history of being wrong on major issues; like salt and high blood pressure, like the eugenics movement. I think they're off base on this issue too.
