As someone who resisted quitting until medical reasons gave me no option, I have to say that the 'dog in the manger' attitude of of anti-smoking fanatics is one of the major reasons I held on so long. When one comes to despise the group that's trying to force one to do something, the will to resist becomes very powerful. We resist you; not because you're wrong, necessarily, but because you're assholes.
