Funnily enough Dai, that was the first Welsh I learned. The guy I shared with my first year at Cardiff was from Anglesey & told me it meant "Hello". Fortunately I found out what it meant before trying it out! That was in the early 60s, so tho' I've remembered some of the sounds I can't remember the spelling - as you've no doubt noticed!
