Subject: RE: Help: Furry Lewis CD Eaten by Mean CD PLayer
Bobert, ole buddy, just to show you that I'm not completely oblivious and indifferent to the plight of your Furry Lewis CD, I allowed my CD player to eat a CD today. I managed to retrieve it and thought you might want to know my technique. The CD ended up blocking the carousal tray so it couldn't close. I don't know the make of yours but my player is a Teac 5-disc carousal.

First with the power on, open the carousal. Then turn the power off. This should leave the tray sticking out. Unplug everything and place the player on the work surface of your choice.Remove the metal cover.Mine had 7 little screws holding it on.Reach in,remove the missing CD, and put the cover back on.Plug it all back in and you are ready to go.Took me a total of about 5 minutes.

Turns out the CD wasn't really worth the effort except that it was blocking the carousal. I had bought it while purchasng copius quantities of sugar and caffeine at a Circle K Stop-and-Rob in Salem,Oregon. The title was"And Then There Was Bass". Being a beginner bass guitar player I figured I could learn a few licks off it. I really should have seen the Parental Advisory label for explicit content on it. Yep, it was all Hip-Hop, designed to get the coils really moving in a sub-woofer.So stuck it in the microwave for 5 seconds anthe light show was better than the music.
